Who I am
Derek Anson Photography is run by me, Derek Anson, a wedding photographer based in Billericay, Essex. I'm responsible for the personal information you share with me. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email me at derek@derekanson.com.
What I collect
When you get in touch through my website, a Facebook or Instagram ad, Hitched, Bridebook or WhatsApp, I collect:
- your names, email address and phone number
- your wedding date and venue
- anything else you choose to tell me about your plans
If you book with me, I'll also keep your contract, payment records and the photographs from your day.
Why I use it
- To reply to your enquiry, check my availability and arrange a call (legitimate interests)
- To provide the photography you've booked (contract)
- To keep financial records (legal obligation)
I won't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing without your consent.
Who I share it with
I only share your information with the services that help me run my business, such as Pixieset (website and galleries), Studio Ninja (client management and contracts), Meta (Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp), my email provider and my accountant. I never sell your data.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that don't go ahead: deleted within 12 months
- Clients: contracts and financial records are kept for 6 years, as required by HMRC
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information I hold about you, or object to how I use it. Just email derek@derekanson.com and I'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
