What is documentary wedding photography?
Hello, If you're reading this, you're probably engaged, congratulations!
Documentary wedding photography, also often described as photojournalism candid or reportage, and all pretty much mean the same thing, it's a "hands-off" approach in the simplest form. It's the telling of a story using a series of images without dictation or staging.
What are the benefits?
A documentary approach allows you to enjoy your day thoroughly, without worrying about posed photos and taking time out anyway from family and friends.
Documentary photography can suit any wedding day, from hundreds of guests to the most intimate involving just a few.
It doesn't matter how you've styled your day and what theme you love. Whether you've gone for something a little more traditional, relaxed, or been inspired by The Great Gatsby or Super Heroes. A documentary approach has it all covered.
Your day and final images will be unique!
I'm not recreating the same poses time after time for all my couples so your pictures will be one-of-a-kind. You can look at my wedding gallery for an idea of what to expect, but what will your photos look like? They will be thoughtful, full of love, emotion, big bear hugs, they will feature lots of beautiful moments and crazy dad dancing.
If you would like to know more, have a look at my About page, check out the wedding galleries, and also get in touch if you fancy a chat about your wedding day plans. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Derek Anson.
