Blake Hall Wedding Photography
Caroline & Lloyd's wedding day at the St Mary Magdalene Church and Blake Hall. The day began with me covering bridal preparations at Caroline's parents home. Bridal preparation is a good time to get to know those close to the bride and other vendors involved on the wedding day. Everyone was welcoming, and I had a steady supply of coffee and snacks;) which is always a good thing. It was the first time in a long while since I had to work alongside another guy with a camera. Fortunately for me Richard from Your Perfect Day was friendly, professional and easy going.
How was the weather? Like nearly every wedding I've worked this year we had lots of rain and lots of sun. We got lucky and dodged most of the rain which has been the case all summer. It had always stopped when needed to and was only light when Caroline arrived at the church. The wedding ceremony took place at the St Mary Magdalene Church in Great Burstead, Essex. The church is Spacious and with large windows that let in plenty of light, always a good thing for available light photographers like myself. We all then moved on to Blake Hall in Ongar. It was my first time at Blake Hall, and I was very impressed. The refurbished barn is where events take place; it's spacious, and light and the surrounding grounds are stunning. Time permitting, I would suggest exploring the grounds as the backdrops and scenery are changeable, and this makes for some beautiful photo opportunities especially later in the day with a low Sun.
