That comment should be a televised speech, or at least a blog post! Nicely put.

I like accepting what is given back to me in the form of a print. That's part of the magic part for me. With a digital file there are a million-and-one things that can be done and I can't help but feel like I have to do something. With a print, that's it, I accept what I'm given and it will remain that way. I want to see blown highlights, missed focus, the odd bit of camera shake... all the stuff that would otherwise be corrected. Correcting 'the moment' then loses something special. Digital photography can be just the same but it takes a bucket load of self restraint, as all the tools to make the image 'better' are at our fingertips... That's not to say great film photographers never edited, that would be false, of course they did. Me receiving a print instead of a digital file just takes that part away from me. Does that make sense ;)? It's the self imposed constraint that helps fuel creativity.

I blame YOU! I'm overwhelmed with the different kinds of films you can buy. I want grainy, soft and rough looking photographs— something you can't get in digital.

Guess it's all about playing around and experimenting!

A very basic setup! Canon 5D2 & 50 mm f1.4, we dashed outside grabbed half a dozen quickly taken shots and got back in before the Mrs realised what we were up to. In the road with no shoes would do have most mums halting a photo shoot pretty quickly ;).
