A beautiful pre-wedding photo session that took place in the grounds of the De Vere hotel in Theobalds Park, Cheshunt. I’m really enjoying my pre-wedding sessions, the extra time spent getting to know my couples before their wedding day is incredibly beneficial and I recommend this for all.

The happy couple wanted to have their engagement photos shown as a slideshow at their wedding reception. I think that is a fabulous idea and would encourage my future couples to look into this. Many venues may already have the equipment in place or if not, I’m sure we or I could arrange something. As a little surprise gift I also delivered a DVD slideshow that I thought would be watchable. I’m not that great when it comes to choosing suitable music for slideshows so I tend to stick with what is suggested for the chosen theme. The music sounds happy enough, maybe too cheesy for some 
? I’d love to know your thoughts.

Pre-Wedding engagement photography is popular with couples in Asia and has been growing in popularity within the UK. It is not uncommon for couples to fly to London and to other European cities especially for their pre-wedding photo shoot. A shoot combined with a short break can be a great opportunity to spend some quality time together, escape the stress of wedding planning, enjoy the sights and have fantastic moments captured that are cherished forever.
Pre-Wedding Engagement Photography in London
Most of my recent pre-wedding engagement photo shoots have taken place in country parks in Essex so it made a nice change to head into the city. This pre-wedding engagement shoot took place outside Buckingham Palace and in St James’s Park. On this occasion time was against us and we had to deal with fast changing weather conditions but we still managed to get some lovely shots and have lots of fun in the process. I enjoy the interaction with my couples, I’m not sure what i say most of the time, I guess I waffle on a bit… but we get results and the feedback I receive is positive. As for British summer time… It must have been a first for me that a couple loved the heavy rain! my camera & lenses have good weather proofing (i think?) and a little bit of water now and again has not been a problem in the past, so I was more than happy to carry on.

Not all wedding photographers offer pre-wedding engagement photography, I’ve only recently began exploring this area myself. If your wedding photographer doesn’t offer this service there is no harm in seeking out someone that does. It may even make a nice contrast in style to your wedding day photography. The freedom and opportunity to do anything you fancy may not be possible on your wedding day so it really is a great opportunity to put a shoot together. Your photo shoot can be anything you want it to be so get thinking, be creative, plan ahead and budget for the experience.
If you like what you see and would like a portrait shoot then get in contact. You don’t have to be engaged, just in love. It will be a similar experience, I’ll just drop the ‘pre-wedding engagement’ part of the title.

I met with Caroline & Lloyd for their engagement photo shoot at Norsey Wood in Billericay Essex. We only explored a tiny part of the woods and what I did see was beautiful, I would definitely use this location again.
Our original pre-wedding session was rained off and I don’t think we could have rearranged for a better time. The light was really nice and we finished up with a low lying Sun, great for lovers of lens flare, which I am! I’m really enjoying the pre-wedding engagement sessions at the moment, I just wish I had offered them sooner! they are so beneficial. I’ve done lots recently in wooded parkland areas which is great but I’ll be looking for a change of scenery for my next few.
Caroline & Lloyd are all set to get married this coming July. The wedding will take place at St Mary Magdalene church in Gt Burstead and then we’ll be moving on to Blake Hall in Ongar for the remainder of the day. I’m pleased to be their chosen photographer and can’t wait to be part of their day.

Pre-Wedding Engagement Photographer | Wat Tyler Country Park Wedding Venue
Gemma & Mark | Wat Tyler Country Park | Pre-Wedding Engagement
Gemma & Mark are getting married later this Summer at Wat Tyler Country Park. I had never been to the venue before and was keen to have a nose about so we decided this was going to be the location for their Pre-wedding session. It’s a lovely venue, the wedding ceremony will be taking place in a beautiful 18th century thatched barn and the reception room is light, spacious & modern, lots more info here… http://www.wattylercountrypark.org.uk/. Gemma & Mark have some lovely ideas & beautiful plans for their wedding day. Towards the end of the session we got talking about photo booths and about all the fun props that can be used… tiaras, moustache on a stick, Timmy Mallet specs, inflatable guitars etc… So cutting a long giggly story short, I’m really excited to now be offering a ‘Photo booth’ service;)!! I can’t wait, it’s gonna be brilliant! Check out the beautiful Gemma & Mark, a great couple & very much in love!

Hylands Park Essex | Pre-Wedding Engagement Photography
I arranged to meet with Gemma & Rob for their pre-wedding photo session at Hylands park, Essex. Hylands park is beautiful and vast, 500+ acres of landscaped parkland. It’s a great setting for Hylands House, a stunning Essex wedding venue. We met up late Sunday afternoon, the timing was perfect as it had rained heavily earlier but the Sun was definitely wearing his hat for us. We decided to explore the surrounding gardens of Hylands House, pausing briefly to grab some portraits every now and then. Keeping these sessions relaxed is important for me, I’m looking for natural unforced expressions and i also want my couples to really enjoy the experience. That’s the most important part, to enjoy the experience… Check out the happy couple!

Gemma & Rob will be getting married this summer at Boreham House, Essex. It’s a venue I’ve not yet worked at but from everything I’ve seen and read it looks absolutely fantastic and I’m excited to be their chosen photographer! I can’t wait, it’s going to be a great day! I arranged to meet with Lisa & Chris at Bedfords Park in Havering-atte-Bower for their Pre-Wedding session. I don’t think we could have picked a colder summers day! It had been lovely and sunny until we met up, unfortunately then the temperatures dropped and the wind picked up. We still had a great time and managed to get some beautiful shots before it got too cold for Lisa & her handsome little boy Kai. I’m really looking forward to Lisa & Chris’s wedding day later this month and hopefully it’ll be a little warmer…
